Dawes: Los Angeles rock group Dawes first came on to the scene in 2009, formed from the ashes of former indie group Simon Dawes.

Following the departure of guitaris Blake in 2007, Simon Dawes became known simply as Dawes as the band turned to folk-rock influences in favor of their previous post-rock sound.

The band is composed of two brothers, Taylor Goldsmith () and Griffin Goldsmith as well as and.

Their music has been often categorized as part of the Laurel Canyon, a new movement of musicians who have primarily taken influence from the folk-rock music that originated in northern los angelese, bands and performers such as Neil Young and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

The band has released two albums on ATO Records, North Hills and Nothings Is Wrong.

The band's nostalgiac sound has been described by rolling stone magazine as sounding, "authentically vintage." Dawes are currently on the road taking their unique folk-rock music on a tour through Europe.
