Widely acknowledged as one of the world’s finest acoustic and slide guitar players, Martin's interpretations of traditional songs are masterpieces of storytelling.
His music reflects a wide variety of influences and styles, rooted in Britain, Ireland, America and beyond. The influence of the natural world can also be heard in many of his songs. His love of wildlife was nurtured in and around Scunthorpe by his father and elder brother Geoff Trinder; the chairman of the Lincolnshire Wildlife Trust.
Whether playing American old-time music, blues, a Dylan song or his own material, Martin Simpson is unpredictable, individual and a guitarist of immense subtlety. This solo show promises to be intense, eclectic, spellbinding and deeply moving.
