Dropkick Murphys: Mixing the stylings of traditional Irish drinking songs with the hardened sounds of punk rock, Boston natives The Dropkick Murphys first arrived on the scene in 1996.

Within their first year performing together The Dropkick Murphys began to make a name for themselves, earning a spot opening for the Mighty Mighty Bosstones in 1997 and releasing a series of EPs that would eventually lead to a record deal with Hellcat Records.

Following the release of their acclaimed first album, Do or Die, frontman Mike McColgan left the band to pursue his life dream to be a firefighter.

He was soon replaced by former Bruisers singer Al Barr who brought his own unique brand of street punk to the group.

The Dropkick Murphys released 5 more albums on Hellcat, each succeeding in expanding their fanbase and breaking their version of celtic flavored punk into the public mainstream.

In 2007 The Dropkick Murphys signed to Warner Bros Records and released their two most successful albums to date, The Meanest of Times and Going out of Style.

The Dropkick Murphys are currently on their 2012 St.

Patricks Day tour, a series of shows throughout America including their famed annual St.

Patricks Day show at the Boston House of Blues.
