Araba’s Song A Slave’s Story: Rebirth of a great play, Araba? Song - A Slave? Story

A young woman left with her village for the farm in West Africa. They never came back home. Over 300 years later, her legacy lives on as her children walk amongst you. This is the story of survival, told through the universal voices of motherhood.

Having receiving high praise from none other then the Reverend Jesse Jackson, for the gripping portrayal of Arabas Story - A Slaves Story, Yaw Asiyama is bringing this moving historical production on a 2 theatre tour.

Araba? Song - A Slaves Story, chronicles a tale of love on many levels; spiritual, physical and emotional. This is the life story of those who made it, scars and all. Despite many set backs. This play follows the lives of those who have carved a place in history.

The first was stolen, the second was resilient, the third was cunning, the fourth was clever and so the fifth was born free. Now because of this the sixth was searching and unfortunately we lost the seventh, but the eighth was a survivor. The ninth stood her ground so you will triumph!

Araba’s Song A Slave’s Story at Fairfield Halls in Croydon, Surrey on Saturday, 02 October 2010.
