Dali Universe

County Hall, London, Greater London, SE17PB

Dali Universe: Located on London's vibrant South Bank with a waterfront vista overlooking the Palace of Westminster and Big Ben, County Hall Gallery makes its home in the historic County Hall, next to the BA London Eye. Join us for the Dali centenary in 2004 as the Dali universe celebrates 100 years since the birth of our mad protagonist - Salvador Dali!

County Hall Gallery is passionate about the life and art of surreal genius, Salvador Dal, and strives to enrich young minds with our knowledge of the art, as well as the artist. Presented with Dal-inspired style and flair in a dreamlike labyrinth of galleries, the Dal Universe places viewers in the heart of a surreal fantasyland. The exhibition unravels the masters mind with precision and creativity.

Over 500 of his amazing works are on exhibit, including the largest collection of Dal sculptures dating from 1935-1984, his drawings, lithographs, gold and glass objects and a Dal-inspired furniture collection.

Since its opening in the summer of 2000, the Dal Universe has continued to delight and inspire over 250 000 visitors a year, and has become a favourite for school and social groups.

Be inspired by the surreal master as you browse a diverse selection of titles, including Salvador Dal's own surrealist writings, biographical and educational texts, and an extensive range of posters, prints and postcards. Also featuring Dal-inspired desk toys, accessories and T-Shirts, the bookshop is the only place to sate your need for knowledge of the mad and brilliant Catalonian.
