Les Miserables: Boublil and Schonberg's Les Misérables is a legendary production which tells the story of a man's search for redemption in 19th century France. The award-winning score features the song "I Dreamed a Dream", sung as a solo by one of the characters during the first act.

Numerous artists have covered this song, including Neil Diamond, Aretha Franklin and Susan Boyle. Following their successful performances in the Les Misérables 25th Anniversary Concert at the O2, actors Alfie Boe and Matt Lucas will be part of the cast until September 2011. Les Misérables is indisputably one of the world's most popular musicals that has been seen by over 57 million people worldwide.

The show has been performed in 42 countries and sung in 21 different languages and continues to thrill every audience fortunate enough to see it.

Les Miserables: Based on the novel by Victor Hugo, has lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer and music by Claude-Michel Schonberg with original text by Alain Boublil and additional material by James Fenton. Jean Valjean, released on parole after 19 years on the chain gang, finds that the ticket-of-leave he must display by law, condemns him to be an outcast. Only the saintly Bishop of Digne treats him kindly and Valjean, embittered by years of hardship, repays him by stealing some silver. Valjean is caught and brought back by the police, and is astonished when the Bishop lies to save him, also giving him two precious candlesticks. Valjean decides to start his life anew. Things go well but 8 years later, an encounter with a face from the past threatens everything he now holds dear...
