Bad Lieutenant: Bad Lieutenant @ The Masque

Sunday 21st March 2010

We are pleased to announce Bad Lieutenant @ the Masque Theatre on Sunday 21st March, for their Liverpool debut. The band which was formed in 2007 was built on the sainted heritage of New Order and Joy Division, consisting of frontman Bernard Sumner (Guitar and Vocals) alongside Phil Cunningham (Guitar) and Jake Evans (Guitar and Vocals). Their blend of youth, experience, local roots and musical futurism takes the band to a new level, with their debut album Never Cry Another Tear released to critical acclaim in October 2009.

Their second single Twist Of Fate is due for worldwide release on the bands own imprint Triple Echo on 22nd March. Last year saw the band guest support shows with the Pet Shop Boys and following their UK tour in March, will see them perform at the legendary Coachella Festival in the US.

Telford-based electro-rock band You and What Army describe themselves as "having unforgivingly catchy trance synths that soar over tectonic-plate-shatteringly heavy guitar riffs, dancefloor-destroyingly awesome basslines and lowrider-cruisingly phat beats, with the narrated apocalypse rapped, sung and screamed wildly into the fray." That's one massive claim, so BritEvents' Lucy Middleton catches up with the four piece band to find out more about their epic sound.
