John Bishop: Scouse comedian John Bishop was named best newcomer by BBC Radio Merseyside, winning the North West Comedy award for best stand-up in 2004.

Since then he has been nominated for the Edinburgh Comedy Award.

His material is drawn mainly from life's experiences, from being a father to cycling around the globe, to playing semi-pro football and working as a night club bouncer.
