OMD: OMD were most prevalent on the music scene in the 1980s.
The band come from the Wirral and is famed for their synth-pop sound.
They were formed in the late 70s by Andy McKlusky and Paul Humphries then later became a quartet with Malcolm Holmes and Martin Cooper.
Between 1980 and 2010 they released 11 studio albums, the latest of which is 'A History of Modern' (2010).
Their hits were often heard in the background of the BBC1 TV series 'Ashes to Ashes'.
