Manchester Prog Rockers Strangefish return to the Citadel with support from This Winter Machine.
Inspiring an unswervingly loyal cult following along the way, the band took two periods of hiatus, from 1996-2000 and from 2008-2012, at which latter point a supposed one-off reunion gave rise to the latest phase of their existence.Still featuring the original musicians Steve Taylor (vocals) and Paul O’Neil (keyboards) from that very first line-up, most of the line-up is unchanged from that of 2000. Since being augmented by female vocals, in the shape of drummer Dave Whittaker’s wife Jo, the band’s superbly melodic prog sound has been given a new harmonic dimension. They are finishing off a new album, which already sounded great when they previewed some material at the Summers End Festival last year. Their recorded output only tells half the story, however, as the band approach live work with a tremendous sense of fun and showmanship. Go to http://www.strangefish.co.uk/ to hear samples of their work.
Support comes from superb new rising prog band This Winter Machine, who have recently released their exceptional debut album The Man Who Never Was, fresh from an acclaimed tour supporting Magnum. Check out some music here: https://www.thiswintermachine.com/gallery-media
