A biopic about the life of the famous poet Stevie Smith, who wrote the poem Not Waving But Drowning.
However, in the 1950s and 1960s, she was a popular and influential poet and novelist credited with the popularisation of the phrase 'A good time was had by all'. She featured regularly on the BBC and was awarded the Queen's Gold Medal for Poetry. Sylvia Plath was a devotee.Her turbulent, unstable yet quaintly suburban life melts into a moving and gentle character study beautifully crafted and told by Hugh Whitemore from Stevie's own writings.
