Featuring ensembles from the USA, Croatia and Edinburgh based The BIG Sing, this night of talent is not to be missed!
After its inaugural outing in 2016, the Stirling Bridge International Arts Festival returns this year with another programme bursting with energy and excitement featuring the following ensembles:Chamber Choir Ivan Filipovic, Croatia
Lindbergh HS Strolling Strings, USA
The BIG Sing, Edinburgh
West Springfield High School Orchestra, USA
The Chamber Choir Ivan Filipovic (KZIF) is a highly acclaimed choral ensemble, based in Zagreb though its members hail from across Croatia. Inspired by a commitment to excellence, they perform a variety of choral literature ranging from Renaissance to Contemporary music, and have taken their music all over the world including singing at The United Nations.
The BIG Sing is a non-audition choir for children aged 7 - 18 living in the Broomhouse area of Edinburgh. Part of The BIG Project, a youth and children's charity, the choir aims to help children learn, achieve, have fun, and feel good about themselves, while broadening their horizons and raising their aspirations through performance experiences. You may have already heard them performing Flower Of Scotland in the London 2012 Olympic Opening Ceremony! The choir's repertoire includes uplifting folk, world, and pop songs.
Lindbergh HS Strolling Strings - All the way from St Louis in the US, the Lindbergh High School Strolling Strings bring their unique style of music to Scotland! Known to ‘stroll’ through the audience as they play their music melds different styles together and is influenced by celtic and pop music.
West Springfield HS String Orchestra - Joining us from Virginia in the States, West Springfield High School bring their unique repertoire to Scottish shores, consisting of American folk songs, Spanish melodies and light-hearted pieces from American composers.
The Evening will end in a grand finale with all groups coming together to perform a well known Scottish piece under the direction of the festival’s Artistic Director, Dean Marshall!
