Monmouth's fabulous free music festival ' Monmouth Festival/Gyl Trefynwy ' is celebrating its 30th year this year.
Over the years the nine-day festival has become THE big event for Monmouth ' a celebration of the town and its community, and a chance to see the best of local and national musicians from rock, classical, pop, folk, jazz, ska, punk, world music and beyond.
As well as being a festival at the heart of the community, Monmouth Festival is also one of Europe's biggest and best free festivals. It has played host to artists such as Goldie Lookin' Chain, Dr and the Medics, Gino Washington, The Animals, Mungo Jerry, The Drifters and Eddie and the Hotrods.
There's fun for all the family too on Carnival day, with stalls, workshops, street entertainers, a funfair, and other entertainment.
Music events take place nightly on the main open-air stage as well as at St Mary's Church, the Green Dragon pub and the Three Horseshoes pub.
