Castle Rising Castle, Castle Rising, Norfolk, PE322XD

Castle Rising Castle: A fine 12th-century domestic keep, set amid huge defensive earthworks and once the palace and home to Isabella, the 'She Wolf' of France, dowager Queen of England. The keep walls stand to their original height. There is access to castle bridge and grounds via impacted gravel paths and grass. Steep steps to castle may restrict wheelchair users but these are negotiated by many ambulant disabled visitors.
