Tolhouse Museum, Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, NR302SH

Tolhouse Museum: Visit one of the oldest prisons in the country and explore Great Yarmouth’s story of crime and punishment. The new displays chart the changing use of the building over time and explore the history of Crime and Punishment from the medieval period up to the present day.

Discover the fate of thieves, smugglers, witches, pirates and murderers when punishment included transportation and execution. Please note there are a lot of steps and uneven floor surfaces throughout the building and visitors in wheelchairs can only access one room via a second entrance.
