Thetford Priory, Thetford, Norfolk,


Thetford Priory: Remains of Cluniac priory founded in 1103 by Roger Bigod. The Priory met the same fate as many others under the Dissolution under Henry VIII. Disbanded in 1540, much of the Priory's carved stone was stolen and can be seen re-used in numerous houses in Thetford.

Admission is free.

Thetford Priory can be found on the west side of Thetford near the station. .
