A Unique Northumberland Musical and Midsummer Shindig When the city meets the Northumberland countryside, all is not what it seems… what’s
November Club has travelled across the county, visiting seven Northumberland villages and a livestock auction mart to collect stories and anecdotes from residents, to create a magnificent musical exploring rural life.
‘We solemnly vow to entertain you with our musical tomfoolery. We sincerely commit to tickling your toes with our neat beats and swelling your hearts with our heart-strung songs. But above all we promise to engage your attentions with a darn good story!’
There is a strange sound coming from the soil. Incomer Sula just cannot let it lie. Her sister Evie can’t seem to get anything right. Alec and Grace are arguing over the sudden arrival of Uncle Bobby, and what is Thomas hiding down at the old station?
Join the storytellers as they weave their midsummer tale about the residents of a village called PLACE; their loves, their losses, and their deepest secrets.
Written by Laura Lindow, with music & lyrics composed by Katie Doherty, who has taken her inspiration from local folk and traditional Northumberland music. Performed by a professional cast of 10 actors and musicians with special appearances from local talent, this performance is unique to the villages and their surrounding area, its people, and its stories.
