Join Trinity Camerata and award-winning violinist Michael Foyle for Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto
The programme starts with a selection from Dvorak's Slavonic Dances, lively pieces inspired by Brahms's Hungarian Dances. The characteristic rhythms of Slavik folk music give them a rich national character. These are followed by Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto performed by the highly acclaimed violinist Michael Foyle whose many achievements include winning the BBC Young Musician of the Year Tabor Award in 2008. Michael is not only a busy soloist but also Guest-Leader of the BBC Symphony Orchestra and Professor of Violin at the Royal Academy of Music. Brahm's Symphony No 3 described by Eduard Hanslick (critic and friend of Brahm's) as 'artistically the most nearly perfect' of his symphonies' completes the programme. Trinity Camerata will once more be joined by the highly accomplished conductor Sam Laughton.Trinity Camerata has been based in Bicester since 2010. It is a small, high quality, amateur orchestra that draws its members from Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Northamptonshire. The Summer concert is one of three concerts staged annually by the orchestra in Bicester's historic church of St Edburg.
