Callander To Balquhidder / Killin Cycle For Cystic Fibrosis

Callander Meadows, Saturday, 19 May 2012

19 MAY

Callander To Balquhidder / Killin Cycle For Cystic Fibrosis: There is a choice of two routes:

1) Callander to Balquhidder:

A nice level cycling route along Loch Lubnaig and via Strathyre with a refreshments stop involving plenty of home baking! Once you reach Balquhidder, its back to Callander by the same route. In total this is about 28 miles of cycling, but if this sounds too far, some cyclists turn around at Strathyre for a gentler 15-mile ride. With its start around 10.30am, this is a family route suitable for children and takes around 4-5 hours in total. The ride includes a visit to the church where Rob Roy McGregor is buried.

2) Callander to Killin:

For something a little more challenging you can carry on once you reach Balquhidder climbing up to Glen Ogle before heading down into Killin. This has sections along the road and, including the return journey, is about 50 miles and starts at 10am.

Entry into the event is £15 for adults and £5 for children (under 16 on day of the event). Visit www.cftrust.org.uk for more details.
