Featuring ensembles from the USA, Croatia and the Scottish fiddling sensation Innovation, this night of talent is not to be missed!
After its inaugural outing in 2016, the Stirling Bridge International Arts Festival returns this year with another programme bursting with energy and excitement featuring the following ensembles:Chamber Choir Ivan Filipovic, Croatia
Innovation, Scotland
Lindbergh HS Strolling Strings, USA
West Springfield High School Orchestra, USA
The Chamber Choir Ivan Filipovic (KZIF) is a highly acclaimed choral ensemble, based in Zagreb though its members hail from across Croatia. Inspired by a commitment to excellence, they perform a variety of choral literature ranging from Renaissance to Contemporary music, and have taken their music all over the world including singing at The United Nations in New York!
Innovation - Hailing originally from Ayrshire and made of past members of the Ayrshire Fiddle Orchestra, Innovation continues to ‘Wow’ audiences. Directed by internationally acclaimed fiddler, Alistair McCulloch this is their first date in Perth!
Lindbergh HS Strolling Strings - All the way from St Louis in the US, the Lindbergh High School Strolling Strings bring their unique style of music to Scotland! Known to ‘stroll’ through the audience as they play, their music melds different styles together and is influenced by celtic and pop music.
West Springfield HS String Orchestra - Joining us from Virginia in the States, West Springfield High School bring their unique repertoire to Scottish shores, consisting of American folk songs, Spanish melodies and light-hearted pieces from American composers.
The Evening will end in a grand finale with all groups performing a well known Scottish piece under the direction of the festival’s Artistic Director, Dean Marshall! Dean is a highly talented and inspirational musician, composer and teacher, and one of the directors of the world famous Barrage 8 who have toured in 37 countries performing over 3,500 shows!
The evening is proudly supported by The Rotary Club of Perth St Johns.
