Roxburghshire is a former southern Scottish county, that bordered Northumberland and Cumbria to the south in England, Selkirk to the north-west and Dumfries to the west. It was abolished as a county in 1975 and subsumed into the Borders Region. The Borders Region itself was divided into four districts and one of those districts was named Roxburgh District.
