Shrewsbury Carnival: Thousands set to enjoy 2012 Shrewsbury Carnival
Thousands of people are set to line the streets of Shrewsbury for the annual Shrewsbury Carnival parade on Saturday 16 June 2012.
The 2012 theme for the carnival is British Heroes - The Best of British.
Themed floats, walking groups, marching bands and dancers will take to the streets of the town centre at 2pm on Saturday 16 June.
Shrewsbury Town Crier Martin Wood and our soon to be chosen Carnival Crier will lead the parade with the Mayor and Mayoress of Shrewsbury, Carnival Queen, Carnival Princess and attendants.
The Shrewsbury Carnival will begin at 10am with a number of activities taking place in the Quarry Park and Morris dancing in Shrewsbury's Square.
Throughout the day Shrewsbury Carnival will be raising money for local charities, last year the carnival raised around £10,000.
