American Museum: These are a subtle blend of both the remnants of the old manorial pleasure grounds and parkland landscape. Much dates from the 1820s containing period features such as the grotto, the balustrade and curtain walling as well as ornamental stone work.

Attributed to George Vivian, son of the original owner John Vivian they are laid out in the Italianate style of the mid 1800s.

The Exhibition Gallery was planned by Ian McCallum, the museum's first director, and John Roberts Architects Limited to blend with the lines of Claverton Manor. Its foundation stone was laid by HRH the Prince of Wales in 1986. The Exhibition Gallery contains The Gallery Shop, The Library, an Exhibition Hall for mounting seasonal exhibitions, and a special Map Room for displays drawn from the Dallas Pratt Collection of Historical Maps. The collection is of early printed maps and engravings of the world and of the western hemisphere from 1472 to the early seventeenth century. .
