All aboard for a proper family Christmas (pets included!)
To help owners navigate the great Christmas migration, B Corp pet food brand, Lily’s Kitchen, has joined forces with Great Western Railway (GWR) to launch the Santa Paws Express – a specially designed Lily’s Kitchen train that will run across the GWR network throughout the festive season.
The eye-catching train design marks the launch of a number of pet-friendly services and a Christmas sack full of treats to make it even easier for pet parents to travel with their four-legged friends over the holidays.
As well as travel tips and advice from CBBC’s veterinary surgeon Rory the Vet to make travels together as magical as the season, Lily’s Kitchen has also created a map pinpointing GWR stations with handy areas nearby for comfort breaks pre-departure to avoid any awkward accidents!
Thousands of festive meals and treats – all made with the very best natural ingredients – will be given away to four-legged travellers in the lead up to Christmas including GWR customer service desks at stations including Oxford, Bath Spa and Bristol Parkway and on-board trains travelling to Bristol on the 7th December.
Those hoping to enjoy some re-TAIL therapy with their pooch at Bath’s famous Christmas Markets on the 8th December should keep an eye out for Lily’s Kitchen samples in the station where helpers will be handing out ulti-MUTT treats for the festive season.
Taking your cat away with you this Christmas? Knowing that cats can be more nervous passengers, Lily’s Kitchen recommends that cat parents’ pre-book the quiet coach (FYI dog parents!). They also suggest travelling at quieter times, in particular avoiding Friday evenings and Sundays, two of the busiest times for leisure rail travel.
Proving that pet travel isn’t just for Christmas, pets can travel for free with GWR throughout the year.
