The Building of Bath Museum

The Building of Bath Museum, Bath, Somerset, BA15NA

The Building of Bath Museum: The Building of Bath Museum is a 'must see'. If you love Bath and its architecture then this museum explains how and why this magnificent city was built, decorated and lived in.

In a period of 70 years Bath developed from a small provincial spa to being the most fashionable place, outside of London. Using a series of models, maps, paintings and reconstructions the museum looks in detail at the various crafts and personalities that built this wonderful city. We have an unrivalled collection of authentic and specialist tools, fixtures and fittings from the Georgian period.

The Countess of Huntingdon's Chapel, situated along the A4 London Road, between the Walcot roundabout and the Lansdown traffic lights. It is easily reached on foot, being in the heart of the city, close to the Circus, the Assembly Rooms and the Milsom Street shops.

The Museum Gift Shop sells a wide range of merchandise, including building conservation guides, books, postcards, gifts and many products associated with the life and works of Jane Austen.

In addition, the Museum produces its own series of conservation leaflets, and publishes a range of postcards with themes from Georgian Bath. Items by local artists have also been commissioned exclusively for the Building of Bath Museum shop. .
