Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park

Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park, Washford, Somerset, TA230QB

Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park: Tropiquaria Animal and Adventure Park is a great day out for adults and children of all ages. Hold a snake or tarantula in the Tropical Hall, visit the amazing puppet show and the newly redecorated aquarium. For a nostalgic experience see the Radio Museum. Outside play for hours on the full-size pirate ships or in the Indoor Play Castle and don't forget the animals all around our grounds. Hours of fun, rain or shine!

Inside the main building at Tropiquaria is our Indoor Jungle. With a waterfall leading to a stream flowing through the hall and free flying birds overhead we have tried to create a rainforest atmosphere.

In enclosures around the hall you will find a variety of animals from giant snapping turtles and caiman to a variety of snakes and lizards and small primates such as Goeldis Monkeys and free range Marmosets.

Our two full-size pirate ships on the front lawn are a haven of fun for kids of all ages.

You can play on the ships, in the ships and around the ships in the sand. Kids run around having the time of their lives with swords and bandanas and you will often find that complex games develop that adults certainly have no hope of understanding.

Our newly built Indoor Play Castle means you can have fun at Tropiquaria whatever the weather.

The play castle has rope bridges, wobble bridges, tunnels and lots of ladders so its great fun for all sorts of games. There is also a dedicated under 5's play area with ball pit and mini slides for the younger children.

Visit the Shadowstring Puppet Theatre and watch one of Paul Doran's award winning shows. The shows change through the year and include cabaret, circus and underwater ballet.

Shows take place throughout the day and last about 20 minutes. Paul will put a time on the clock outside the theatre letting you know what time the next show is, and listen for the bell which signals that the show will start in a few minutes. Definitely not to be missed a wonderful experience for adults and children alike.

Tropiquaria is situated in an old radio transmitting station and our radio museum has lots of information about the old station (which still transmits from the back of the building).

There are hundreds of radios to look at as well as lots of other radio memorabilia a real trip down memory lane.

The Radio Museum is situated through the gift shop in the main building.
