Work by the newly appointed local builders, Barnes Construction, has just started on this £4million development, to build a further 50 en-suite bedrooms (totalling approx.95 bedrooms), a floodlit 2 storey, 32 bay driving range and restaurant, the relocation of the existing golf related, teaching, retail and administrative operations, an upgrade of the current hotel bedrooms, plus a top of the range Spa extension to the existing beauty and leisure facilities. A formal Gound Breaking Ceremony took place on the 14th July 2004.
Ufford Park Hotel and golf course was purchased by the present owners in 1991 after it fell into receivership, since then it has become a 'Connoisseur' Best Western Hotel and is now regarded as one of the best hotel, golf and leisure complexes within the region. The golf course is now home to such prestigious competitions as the PGA Europro Tour (televised by Sky Sports) and the Best Western Senior Masters. The new extension has been carefully designed to reflect the style and attractiveness of the existing buildings and surrounding landscape, and have taken into account the environmental sensitivity of the site.
