Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls have announced details of a headline tour of the UK later this year.
Turner has partnered with Plus 1 so that £1 from every ticket sale goes to War Child, a charity supporting children and families affected by conflict and striving for a world where no child’s life is torn apart by war www.warchild.org.uk
Turner said, “I'm very happy to be working with Plus 1 on this tour. £1 from every ticket goes to the good people at War Child, supporting children and families in communities affected by war all over the world. It feels right to use part of what I do to support such a good cause.”
The tour caps off another year of relentless gigging for Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls who, in 2016 alone, have played to over a quarter of a million people. This year marks the record-breaking tenth consecutive year Frank Turner has performed at Reading & Leeds festival, where he opened as special guest on the Main Stage. Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls will head to the US in September and October for their fourth run of dates there this year before returning home for the ‘Get Better Tour’.
‘Get Better’ is a track from Frank Turner’s 2015 album ‘Positive Songs For Negative People’. This July, House of Vans gallery hosted Get Better: 8 Years on the Road with Frank Turner & The Sleeping Souls, a retrospective photo exhibition by director and photographer Ben Morse. Across 120 unseen, intimate photographs, the exhibition chronicled Ben's time on the road with Frank Turner and his crew, providing some invaluable insights into what a rock star's life on tour is really like.

About War Child UK
War Child supports and protects children whose lives have been disrupted by war and conflict. Our programmes are rebuilding lives across Afghanistan, Iraq, Jordan, Uganda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and Central African Republic. We understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the centre of the solution - from supporting Syrian children to access education, to reintegrating child soldiers in the Central African Republic and enabling girls to escape life on the streets in the DRC. In 2015 we supported 125,000 children affected by war.
Our education programmes focus on the most marginalised children — helping them to deal with the traumas of armed conflict, equipping them with the skills and knowledge to go back to school, and providing training to young people so they can support themselves. War Child’s is delivering highly innovative programming for Education in Emergencies, including our ‘Can’t Wait to Learn’ tablet learning programme.
