This course is a simple foraging walk where we hope to identify a selection of edible and poisonous plants, fruits and wild mushrooms.
We’ll meet here in the car park at 12pm for a short introduction to foraging and an overview of the codes and practices that relate to foragers.
Then, we’ll set off for a 2-3 hour walk around the grounds, identifying different edible and poisonous spring plants and hopefully some Spring mushrooms that we find along the way.
The grounds at Dallas Burston are lovely so we’ll find some nice places to stop along the walk for some homemade foraging refreshments, including our lovely hogweed and wild garlic soup.
We’ll finish the day with a delicious light lunch based on what we have found. This could include a wild salad, tasty wild garlic pesto, and possibly some creamy St Georges Mushrooms or Hogweed Tarts.
After the walk, we will email you details of all the plants and mushrooms we find to help you to remember what you have learnt. There are limited spaces available so please book your tickets online.
