The @WWorld_Bham will host a Mini Motofest event with a large indoor Scalextric track, driving challenge + a performance car static display.
WWTP will host cars of all shapes and sizes on Sunday 29 May for a Super Sunday of high octane action, celebrating the Coventry Motofest event.
Coventry Motofest is a unique two day motoring festival, taking place on June 4-5, which includes a race circuit created from Coventry’s Ring Road on which a variety of competition race cars and bikes perform demonstration displays.
The WWTP Mini-Motofest event will see a range of sports and performance cars set-up in a special static public display outside the WWTP site in St Paul’s Square.
Inside the attraction, wannabe racers will get the opportunity to put their skills to the test on WWTP’s special Coventry Motofest-themed Scalextric Track, with the opportunity to race against a guest motorsport driver.
Just as the larger versions will run on the Coventry Motofest circuit on Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5, miniature Scalextric replicas of the Coventry Motofest headline cars will take to the WWTP track as part of a full race day programme.
A special ‘fastest lap challenge’ will take place during the last hour of the event with prizes available for the quickest recorded lap times.
A colouring competition for children, featuring different car designs, is also set to take place with Scalextric prizes available for the best entries.
Coventry’s Motofest 2016 is a two-day festival – with additional launch events on Friday 3 June -dedicated to the city’s motoring heritage, which this year takes place on Saturday June 4 and Sunday June 5.
With over 100,000 visitors expected to attend , Coventry Motofest is the UK’s largest free city centre motoring festival with a range of automotive activities taking place with everything from pop-up racing and demonstration events to static displays and fringe events – an ‘Edinburgh Festival’ for cars, bikes and vehicles.
