In February 1923, the very first BBC Wales radio broadcast was made from a tiny studio above a shop in Castle Street, Cardiff
Mostyn Thomas, a well-known Welsh operatic baritone at the time, stepped forward and sang into the microphones dangling from the ceiling - his rendition of Dafydd y Garreg Wen marking the first Welsh words ever heard on British radio
Scroll forward a century, and you can join Wynne Evans, Kizzy Crawford, Samantha Price and the BBC National Orchestra of Wales to celebrate this piece of broadcasting history
Featuring a selection of nostalgic Welsh music to warm the heart, join us at BBC Hoddinott Hall on Sunday 5 February, 3pm, for this exciting concert marking this momentous occasion in Wales
