Mark Kozelek brings Sun Kil Moon (formerly Red House Painters) to Glee for rare Midlands gig.
They release through Mark’s Caldo Verde Records, who have established a compelling catalogue. They hail from San Fransisco, California.Releases have had subject matter as diverse as Modest Mouse covers, guest appearances by Ben Gibbard and Will Oldham, John Denver covers and an album with Alan Sparhawk from Low. He has also had many tracks featured on tv including Californication, Sons of Anarchy and Youth (that also featured David Byrne and Bill Callahan) and been an actor in Cameron Crowe’s Almost Famous and Vanilla Sky.
Recent albums Benji and Universal Themes have both featured in end of year Best Of lists in influential publications. Their latest album is Jesu/SKM with Justin Broadrick and his next album Mark Kozelek Sings Favourites, is due out in May, and includes a cover of David Bowie’s Win with Mike Patton from Faith No More. SKM/Jesu will additionally contribute to a forthcoming Elliott Smith tribute album.
