The Four Tops: Ten days in early spring, 2012, Londoners will have the chance to be transported back to the Doo-Wop days of the late 50's and early 60's.

The Four Tops along with The Temptations, The Crystals and The Tavares will bring the Motown Sound to London stages.

The Four Tops have the distinct title of being the most steadfast and unchanging group to evolve from the Motown Scene.

For forty years The Four Tops toured and recorded as the original founding members that first signed with Motown in 1964.

The death of Lawrence Peyton in 1997 brought about the first change in the band.

Abdul"Duke" Fakir is the only surviving member of the original four and he has no plans of retiring anytime soon.

Although today's band is not the original members the sound is still the same. The Four Tops were among the many groups and individuals that helped to define the Motown Sound.

Their music covered many styles including Doo-Wop, R&B, Jazz, Soul, Contemporary, Disco and Hard Rock.

While much of the early years were spent in recording studios, the late 80's saw them doing more live performances and touring.

The Four Tops recorded several Top Ten Hits and they have recieved many awards over the years, including a Grammy and being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1990.

Put your bobby socks on and get ready to be transported back in time with the sensational Four Tops.

The Four Tops: The Four Tops perform a live gig at National Indoor Arena venue in Birmingham, West Midlands on 15 Mar 10.

FEATUREYou and What Army band interview

Telford-based electro-rock band You and What Army describe themselves as "having unforgivingly catchy trance synths that soar over tectonic-plate-shatteringly heavy guitar riffs, dancefloor-destroyingly awesome basslines and lowrider-cruisingly phat beats, with the narrated apocalypse rapped, sung and screamed wildly into the fray." That's one massive claim, so BritEvents' Lucy Middleton catches up with the four piece band to find out more about their epic sound.
