Celebrating the best local and regional produce with chef demos, workshops, stalls, street entertainment, local bands and craft activities.
The Salisbury Food and Drink Festival Market Day will take place in the Market Square on Sunday 10 September from 10am to 5pm and entry is free.Run by Salisbury Arts Centre this year, it will be a celebration of the very best of local and regional produce with chef demonstrations and workshops, produce stalls, street entertainment, local bands and arts and crafts activities.
Cooking demonstrations will range from Salisbury’s medieval recipes to Mexican street food including a delicious chocolate mole sauce by Michelin Star chef, Peter Vaughan. Tom Doddsy will demonstrate Spanish cuisine and tasty fish dishes and there will be plenty of banter from firm festival favourite Jeff the Chef. There will opportunities to have a go on a pottery wheel and make your own clay pots.
Circo Rum Baba’s Bicycle Bistro and Swervy World musical waiters will delight the crowds. Expect Vaudeville hat juggling, spinning plates, tea dancing, acrobats, musical saw playing and a marvellous table cloth trick to amuse an increasingly moustachioed audience!
Whether you’re after culinary tips, looking to sample local produce, or if you just want a decent pint of ale or some free entertainment, there’s something for everyone.
