Ive lived here a few years now, and every Thursday (weather permitting) have cycled to the strawberry field car boot Not to miss Id like to thank the car booters, for being thereAnd Doing a more than good job!! Ive kitted all and sundry out, bought everything from A - z, even friends who cannot get up there, ive phoned and got them items too Being an ex market trader myself, a few years ago In a city in North Yorkshire, Its in your blood like a ritual!! You can never get enough of them, and the people standing deserve every penny they make You deserve some credit , for the hard work you put into them So well done! having made a 95 mile journey to the thursday carboot, i was gobsmacked to find that the cost of going in had doubled from last yearSpeaking to some of the traders, they also said that they were being charged more to stand, than they were last year Accordingly, a member of staff, had visited other carboot / markets in & around the yorks & humberside region & found that some, were charging people £100 - £200 per car, to park up StrawberryFields has got a reputation for being a Peoples market, offering a wide range of New & 2nd hand goods & bargins galore Locals, Holiday Makers & those who travel 50 - 120 miles,enjoy a fantastic venue & helpfull staff, BUT, this sudden price hike, is going to put some of those regulars off attending Less punters = Less money = Less traders The fewer the Traders, the sooner the loss in revenue, for those who run the carbboot Having had the privilage of attending the carboot at York Racecourse today, over 400 people stood, at least 60 cars turned away & free entry, i was in crowds of at least 2000 Come on Strawberry Fields, were in a recission, money is tight, petrol expensive & we dont want to go elsewhere, so put admission back to 50p & keep pitch prices fair

A great place to find bargains, extremely clean, the organizers are extremly polite and always there to answer any of your concerns Yes you pay to get in but its worth every penny as the staff are always walking around picking up litter that the public drop there are plenty of burger stands there are both new and used items for you to choose from I personally have never had a bad experience visiting this carbootthe only thing that it could improve on is the toilets as in the height of the carboot season there are always long queues so a couple more would not go amiss If you are standing the rents are very compe but the rows in places can be very narrow but thats down to the sellers putting items they have for sale at the front of their stall its not down to the organisers
