The Hull Tapestry: Twelve years in the making, the Hull Tapestry illustrates in colourful and varied stitch, the history and achievements of the city of Kingston upon Hull over the past 700 years. Depicting Hulls diverse history and pioneering spirit, the Hull Tapestry Group has fashioned a breathtaking montage of Hull life through the ages.
Now, over a decade after its inception, we are privileged to be able to see centuries of the citys history, reflected in thirteen of the panels already on permanent display in the historic surroundings of the citys Guildhall. Mounted in specially commissioned cases, the tapestries will be preserved for future generations as a city treasure and integral part of our cultural heritage.
