Brassed Off

Keighley Playhouse, Monday, 11 June 2012 - Saturday, 16 June 2012

Brassed Off: Keighley Playhouse gets all brassy and for their forthcoming production of emotion and intensity by the score.

In a Yorkshire town the livelihood depends on the pit mine which affects the lives of everyone in the community. Brassed Off is set ten years after the miners' strike with the local coal pit facing closure. It means job losses and that could mean the loss of its brass band.

Brassed Off is a comedy, a tragedy, a political polemic, a celebration of the brass band and a heart rending display of mans' inhumanity to man.

Brassed Off at Keighley Playhouse in Keighley, Yorkshire on Monday, 11 June 2012.
