In 1918 women in the UK first won the right to vote. 100 years on, is gender equality a reality or is there still work to be done?
2018 marks the centenary of the Representation of the People Act, in which women first won the right to vote in the UK.One hundred years on from this historic victory for women's rights, has gender equality now been achieved or is there work still to be done? We're bringing together academics in gender, education, and the world of work to discuss the position of women in 21st Century Britain, and ask whether we still need a movement for women's rights.
