.See wildlife through the eyes of a wildlife artist as the exceptionally knowledgeable Robert E Fuller guides you through the Wolds countryside on this incredible safari to see badgers and owlsRobert Fuller knows nearly ever badger sett and owl nest as well as their individual occupants in the deep-set valleys of Thixendale and beyondYour evening will begin in the artist's studio where Robert will talk about how he has developed his garden to specifically to lure wild creaturesAs he talks, Robert will point out wild kestrels in the garden below as they swoop in to feed from a post where he has left food to lure them inThen he will take you on a walk into a stunning Wolds valley where tawny owls peer down at you through the tree foiliageRobert will take his telescope along so that everyone gets a chance to see the owlsSometimes there are as many as 12 hidden in the trees, including chicksThe walk lasts until 9pm and then you will drive in shared cars to a nearby badger sett to wait for the badgers to come outRobert knows the badgers individually and will tell you their stories as you spot themPlease note that you will be sitting still for an hour watching them so wrap up very warm and bring something waterproof to sit on – even in the height of summer it can be cold out on the dalesideAfterwards Robert will bring you back to his gallery for a warm drink before heading off to his living room where you can watch two tawny owls and their young chicks flying in to feed from his bird table just outside the window Robert will tell you all about this family of tawnys and you can watch as the young owlets balance on a post next to the bird table and see how they interact with the parent birds and each otherYou may also get a glimpse of a family of stoats that live in Robert's garden - the stoats have been known to try to pinch food from the tawnys!
