After your walk you are invited into the Thixendale gallery of the acclaimed artist Robert E Fuller for refreshments to browse his stunning collection of paintings, many of them portraits of the birds you will have just spotted in the wild.
About Michael Flowers: A highly knowledgable naturalist, Michael has been running twice daily birdwatching walks mainly in East Yorkshire since 2004. His classes visit woodland, farmland, estuaries, lakes, reservoirs and coastal habitats to observe the different wildlife in those varied locations. Clients visit 30 venues in a year and may expect to see more than 100 species per 10-week term.
Walk Level: This walk will involve a steep climb and requires a medium level of fitness.
Where to meet: This wallk will begin and end at The Robert Fuller Gallery where you will get the opportunity to browse this artist's finely detailed wildlife paintings and will be offered refreshments afterwards. Please report to the desk inside on your arrival.
What to wear: Please wear appropriate, sturdy footwear and clothing to suit the weather - windproof jacket, fleece etc. It can get very cold on the Wolds at this time of year so please don't underestimate how many layers you will need. Bring a hat and gloves too! A flask of something hot would go down well too!
Also bring binoculars if you have them.
