Back to Broadway

Holy Trinity Church Ripon, Saturday, 18 February 2012

18 FEB

Back to Broadway: There's still time to get tickets as Ripon is preparing for a musical showcase on Saturday, 18th February when students and performers from London's Royal College of Music and School of Musical Theatre come to the City to perform a one-off musical showcase billed as Back to Broadway.

Eight of the Colleges' top students, along with young musical theatre professionals will entertain an audience at Holy Trinity Church on Saturday,18th February with songs ranging from The Phantom of the Opera to a Les Misrables medley.

The doors open at 6.30pm with the show starting at 7pm and will conclude by 9.30pm with a short interval between.

Tickets are £10 (adults), £8 (over 60s) and £5 for children under 18 or students and are available from Alan Matthew's Gallery on Kirkgate (opposite Ripon Cathedral) tel 01765 690498 and also from the office at Holy Trinity Church on Kirkby Road tel 01765 690930. Alternatively you can email: judithjennings61@googlemail.com to request tickets or find out more about the concert.

The enterprising group of students are raising money both for their own studies in London and also for the charity, Life Association who work to house and educate street children in Mumbai.

Regarded as one of the best music academies in the world, The RCM boasts only 650 students, with a mere handful of singers accepted each year; to have eight singers of such calibre performing in Ripon is bound to be a rare treat.
