Satisfyingly symphonic in its structure and orchestration, it has a lyrical warmth and shows Dvoks harmonic language at its most sumptuous. The Stabat Mater has moments of dramatic intensity and energy, balanced by passages of calm serenity. This concert offers an opportunity at Passiontide for reflection and meditation within the magnificence of the Minster.
