This summer, get ready for a brand new balloon festival in Wales, packed full of activities and entertainment for the whole family to enjoyFor one spectacular weekend, from June 28 to 30, 2024, Carmarthen Showground is set to host the first-ever Wales Balloon Festival
While hot air balloons are undoubtedly the star attraction, as the name suggests, there's an exciting programme of events and activities waiting to be enjoyed - from lively music performances under the big top to fantastic children's entertainment
What's on offer at the festival? Kicking off at 6pm on Friday, June 28, the Wales Balloon Festival will begin with an evening dedicated to fairground attractions, exhilarating monster truck rides, and a captivating night glow showAs dusk approaches around 9:30pm, vibrant and uniquely shaped balloons will illuminate the night sky, creating a stunning visual spectacle
On Saturday, June 29, festivities will start at 12pm with an array of thrilling shows and activitiesVisitors can enjoy extreme bike stunts courtesy of Extreme Bike Battle, witness wrestling matches by Forever Rivals Wrestling, and get up close with real animals during Mad4Animals shows
The excitement will continue with a parachute display by Jump Dogs and monster truck shows from Extreme Express Monster Ride Truck, alongside a range of food stalls, a craft traders market, carnival games, special character appearances, a petting zoo for the little ones, and even dinosaurs!
Then, as night falls around 9pm, the Exclusive Ballooning team will present another awe-inspiring night glow show with special shaped balloons that will light up against the Carmarthenshire sunset
Come face to face with some well-known TV and movie characters, from superheroes to walking robots Sunday, June 30 will be another chance to experience Saturday’s brilliant activities, excluding the parachute and night glow showsHowever, tickets for Sunday are slightly cheaper, making it an ideal option for those looking for a more budget-friendly experience
There'll also be a stellar tribute line-up on both Saturday and Sunday, with live acts emulating popular artists such as Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Freddie Mercury, Dolly Parton and Lady Gaga
Plus, across all three days, attendees can enjoy a variety of fairground rides, including favourites like the twister and dodgems, as well as delicious treats from a diverse selection of food stalls

This breath-taking sight is available only on the Friday and Saturday, so plan your visit accordingly to witness this magical display
