This ancient practice is equal parts mental challenge and physical achievement - and you'll discover strength you didn't know you had.
❄️ The Ice Swim Take the plunge into the icy waters of Ware Lido. Cold water swimming has incredible health benefits, but more importantly, it requires courage -the same courage we want to inspire in young people.
Travel info Ware is a direct train from London Liverpool Street, and Ware Lido is 10-15 mins walk from Ware station.
There is a car park if you’re driving to the event. It is easily accessible from Watford, Luton or Chelmsford - and approximately 1hr drive from Milton Keynes, for example.
Supporting Local Children Through Big Ideas Fire & Ice is raising funds for Project Possibility (https://www.projectpossibility.uk), a new UK charity created by three local friends, who wanted to do something genuinely inspiring for children — both locally and nationally that works with schools to help children experience ambition, creativity and possibility.
Project Possibility designs bold, hands-on projects that show children extraordinary things are within reach — from writing and publishing their own books, to creating films, music, and green spaces. One of the charity’s most exciting projects to date, Classtronauts, was delivered at Priors Wood primary school where pupils designed a space mission and tracked a high-altitude balloon as it travelled to the edge of space and back. The charity now plans to bring more ambitious projects to schools in Ware and the surrounding areas over the next year! “Fire & Ice is about stepping outside your comfort zone so children can step into bigger possibilities,” said a spokesperson for Project Possibility. “Every participant helps us deliver creative, confidence-building experiences for young people right here in our local community.” – Co-Founder, James Frecknall
