Talented musicians from the Royal Academy of Music present a varied programme of vocal and chamber music.
Sunday 8th September 2024 will mark the second anniversary of the passing of Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth IIHer late Majesty, the longest reigning Monarch in British History with dedicated service of over 70 years, was known also for her appreciation of great musicSt Paul's Walden Bury, Near Hitchin, Hertfordshire, said to be the birthplace of Queen Elizabeth, The Queen Mother is a small stately home, with spectacular gardens, where Her late Majesty Queen Elizabeth II spent much time as a child with other family membersNow the home of Sir Simon and Caroline Bowes-Lyon, the grounds are a fabulous setting for the performance of some of Britain's most talented young musicians from the Royal Academy of Music, who will deliver 'A Royal Serenade' of vocal and chamber musicAttendees are encouraged to arrive from 3pm, bring their own picnic, relax on the lawn or bring their own chair, prior to the one-hour concert at 5pm
The event is also seeking to raise a donation to the StAlbans Cathedral Music Trust in support of its programme to provide young people within the St Albans Diocese an opportunity to perform at the next series of free-to-attend Lunchtime Concerts
