The masterclass will cover everything any filmmaker needs to know to take an idea for a short/feature film all the way through production to release and festival screenings
You’ll learn how to work with resources you already have access to, develop an idea into a compelling script, direct both non and professional actors to give great performances, create drama and suspense, shoot a Hollywood level film even on a small budget, learn secret editing techniques used in Hollywood films, and how to find an audience who will love your film
Come and see the film, meet other filmmakers, chat with the people behind the feature, get insights into how to work in the independent film sector and how to make your film today
This film education project developed out of an indie Sci-Fi-feature-film collaboration between Glasgow based filmmaker Simon Bishopp, Dr Katja Frimberger (University of Strathclyde) and Alexander Crawford who came on board as producer and performers
Together, they produced, 'The Silent Messenger' - an epic sci-fi mystery thriller - inspired by cult sci-fi movies like David Cronenberg’s 'Scanners', Kaufman’s 1978 “Invasion of the Body Snatchers”, Denis Villeneuve’s 'Arrival' and Nicolas Roeg’s 'Don't Look Now'
The film was award-nominated at BIFF (Braunschweig International Film festival) film festival in GermanyThe team has now been funded to share their film and screen skills with young people who want to embark on their own filmmaking journey
