LOTS OF LAUGHTER IN LEEK
Funhouse Comedy Club brings a fun-filled night of laughter to Foxlowe Arts Centre, Leek on Thursday May 7th.
Topping the bill is the effortlessly engaging Andrew Bird, who has appeared on TV on The Russell Howard Hour, was the support act on Michael McIntyre's recent arena tour and has also supported Rhod Gilbert and Lee Hurst on tour, as well as performing internationally. Watching The Young Ones with his brothers as an eight year old, at two in the morning on Comic Relief, he realized then that he wanted to be funny in some way. With his personal appeal and superbly crafted, funny anecdotes, he captivates his audiences.
Opening the night will Carey Marx who has been a circuit favourite for years, mixing his own blend of dark humour with his mischievous and gleeful delivery. His wilful disregard for the controversial and delicate is tempered beautifully by his ability to find joy in the most unexpected places. This hilarious mix of edgy topics and playful gagsmithery can be seen at all the top clubs across the country.
Also appearing is Kate Robb with her slick, well-written gags done at her own inimitable pace.
Completing the line-up will be Will Scambler who mixes witty observations and embarrassing stories from his life.
Compere for the night is the cheeky, chatty Dave Twentyman, who puts a big smile on everyone's face. Talking a lot about the subjects closer to home such as family life and friends.
