In Leicestershire on an August morning just over five centuries ago the armies of Richard III and Henry Tudor faced each other on Ambion Hill. The battle that followed - Richard's last stand in the Wars of the Roses - gave England a new king and saw the end of the Medieval period. The powerful Tudor dynasty had begun.

The Battlefield Centre and Country Park offers diverse ways to re-live history from interactive displays to battle re-enactments.

The Centre also offers a wide range of facilities to add to the enjoyment of your visit.

Children and adults can handle weapons and armour in the detailed exhibition, watch a film explaining the events and walk on a outside circuit which gives a blow-by-blow account of events

Please note the Battlefield Centre and Buttery will be closed for improvements from October 2005 until April 2006
