Wansford station is the headquarters of the Nene Valley Railway. Situated next to the A1 road at Stibbington the station brings together three forms of transport in one location, with the River Nene being separated from the railway by the "Old Great North Road". The Nene Valley Railway has one of the most varied collections of locomotives and rolling stock in the United Kingdom, if not the world.
