What is Dressage?

Dressage has a fascinating history, dating back to classical Greek horsemanship and the military who trained their horses to perform movements intended to evade or attack the enemy whilst in battle.

The rider and horse should perform as a single entity, with the horse appearing to be moving on their own due to the rider's subtle, invisible aids. The horse must exhibit three distinct paces: walk, trot, and canter, with smooth transitions between them during all displays.

During the Freestyle to Music, the rider has the freedom to choose the music, choreography, and sequence of movements to be shown. Technical expertise and artistic performance are both assessed in the Freestyle test. Watch in wonder as the horse performs all movements in harmony with the music's rhythm.

Ticket Information:
General Entry Fee: £5 per adult and children up to 16 go free

Access to the general admission area, overlooking the arena action. Access to the clubhouse with café and licensed bar and toilet facilities. General admission tickets are also allowed to bring a picnic and picnic blankets welcome. No dogs allowed. Seating or grass areas for picnics are available.
